U.S. History – 2 semesters

This course is US history taught from the perspective of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The first semester we begin with the exploration era of the 15th century and continue to the Civil War, which has been called “the continental divide” of US History, and failure to understand it is a failure to understand America. From there we examine the continuing establishment of America as the world’s dominant political and economic superpower through a continuous legacy of wars, declared and undeclared down to the present in the second semester. This class requires minimal homework; mainly a review of class notes each week to prepare for a quiz on the previous class’s content. Recommended for high school age students and their parents.
